The Lloyd’s Development Group was excited to host our last event of 2017 on the 13th December featuring Nick Sordon, Head of Casualty, Swiss Re speaking on the Virtual World touching on Bitcoin, Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence.

At the offices of Lloyd’s Australia on 1 O’Connell Street, Sydney, April 6th 2017 – the Lloyd’s Development Group invited Robyn Adcock, Client Manager at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, David Gallagher, I.T. Liability and Cyber Portfolio Manager at Liberty International Underwriters, and Peter Craney, Lawyer at Kennedys for what proved to be a riveting panel discussion on the ever evolving risks of cyber.
Panel discussions on insurance topics are rarely anything to rave about but the engagement and energy in the room that evening was fantastic. All three panelists were passionate educators and it was a unique opportunity for young insurance professionals to have access to such an extensive level of expertise and experience on the subject.
A great tour conducted by Phillip Heads of the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust for members of the Lloyd’s Development Group.
Members were taken on an extended tour of two of Sydney’s most iconic stadium including a Q&A session with the Stadium’s Head of Security. We gained some real insights into the operational and other risk management challenges faced by the Trust as well as being treated to learning about some of the Stadium’s colourful sporting history. A highlight for the cricket fans among the group was making it into the home team change room in the Members Stand of the SCG.
The Lloyd’s Development Group were delighted to present an Economic briefing with Dr John Hewson at El Camino Cantino, The Rocks (18 Argyle Street, Sydney, NSW) on Thursday, 13th July 2017.
Dr John Hewson is one of Australia’s most experienced economists, financial experts and company directors. During the night, Dr Hewson spoke to members on the current economic environment and it’s impact on the insurance industry followed by a lively Q&A session.
